Vivian Martin, Leycester-based artist is a photographer and former film maker and animator, who has lectured at the City Art Institute in Sydney, and at Kogarah and Wollongong TAFEs.
Viv taught budding art students sculpture,‘electromedia’, composition and drawing over two decades, before moving to the Northern Rivers in 2008. His grandfather was a stonemason, his father an engineer, and Viv –who learned to weld at twelve years of age – believes that the practical skills he learned from his family have stood him in great stead throughout his enormously varied artistic path.
Viv has had an enormously varied career which has included work as the communications manager for the Murray Darling Basin Commission, a stint in commercial television, web design, book illustration, ceramics, sculpture and painting. He is a past president of Craft ACT and has never stopped creating art in many forms and techniques wherever he has lived and worked.
