Eat The Street! this Saturday

This weekend Sample NSW & Lismore Come to the Heart are holding Lismore’s very first food festival.

Eat the Street! will see the lovely tree lined Magellan Street closed off to traffic, becoming a street food festival celebrating everything we love about the region. The festival kicks off at midday through to 8pm on Saturday March 14, and you can sample some of Lismore’s finest cafes and restaurants all in the one spot.

The cooking stage will kick off from midday with celebrity chefs Jody Vassallo & Clayton Donovan. Plenty of kids entertainment, street table tennis and handball and live music from 4pm.

OUR PICKS FOR THE DAY!

We’re looking forward to seeing Bonny, the Stone & Wood retro Beer Van. Stone & Wood are setting up a festival beer garden and will serve up the best in local beers, reds and whites will be available, and there will be locally brewed ginger beers and a cider bar as well! Uhm YAY…!

There’s The Pitt Family Circus doing free live performances over the day and House of M’s Jesse Mackintosh will be there with a badge making workshop, alongside the Lismore Handmade Market Stall, with some non-edible goodies for sale, including prints, clothes, gifts and other designer & indie handmade awesomeness.

Black Sombrero has Jalepeno Poppers on their tasting plate menu and we’ve seen some amazing images of desserts in our facebook feed in the last few days – if you haven’t tried Ilias the Greek’s award winning Halva you MUST, it’s the BEST!

ALSO while you’re enjoying your gastronomic delights, don’t forget to have a wander through the Back Alley Gallery. Some of our best local street artists will be there with live painting demos, putting up some new pieces in the Gallery.

Here’s a link to the PDF printable map so you know exactly where everything is. Hope to see you there!
